Chandro Tomar, the world’s oldest sharpshooter, passed away on Friday after succumbing to COVID-19. She was 89 years old. She was known as “Shooter Dadi”.
The movie “Saand ki Aankh” was made on the story of Chandro Tomar and her sister Prakashi Tomar. Bhumi Pednekar played the role of Chandro Tomar while Taapsee Pannu essayed the role of Prakashi Tomar. The film was released in 2019.

Aftab Shivdasani also paid tribute to her on Twitter and wrote, “Very sad news on the passing of the iconic Chandro Tomar Ji also known as shooter dadi. An inspiration to millions of people all over… RIP dadi, May God grant you peace and your family strength at this difficult time.”

Taapsee Pannu shared a picture with Chandro Tomar on her social media with the words, “But I learnt from you to never give up… Daadi will live on forever in the hearts of many girls like me who she was an inspiration to.”
