Anupam Kher has always remained franked when it comes to his struggles, whereas it is from his childhood days or early career days. Recently, in a conversation with Curly Tales, the actor revealed that he does not own his own house and believes in living in rented apartments.
“I live in a rented apartment, because I decided I don’t want to own a house. Kiske liye (for whom)? Pay the rent every month and live. The money that you will buy a house for, keep it in your bank account and use that to pay your rent instead,” stated the veteran actor.
He further explained that it is better to give and distribute the money after you go rather than people fighting for your house. However, the actor added he did buy a house in Shimla for his mother.
“I was teasing her seven years ago, saying that I am a big star and she can tell me what she wishes to have,” continuing, “I thought she will say, ‘Nahi, kuch nahi’, but she instantly said, ‘I want a house in Shimla’. I asked her why because we don’t live there after my father’s death, but she lived in a rented house all her life there, hence wanted one of her own,” narrated Kher.
