Kangana Ranaut has been in the headlines lately for being slapped at Chandigarh airport by a female CISF constable. The newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, was on her way to the national capital, when she came across such incident.
Among those who reacted to the incident was actor Annu Kapoor, whose comment did not sit right with the actress turned politician.
In reaction to Kangana’s remark, Annu has taken to his X handle to apologize to the actress. He shared a heartfelt note in Hindi, wherein he addressed the four times national award winner as his dear sister and expressed his respect for all women.

The veteran actor acknowledged that not knowing the laws and regulations of a country can lead to mistakes and punishment, however not knowing a person or place is not a crime. He emphasized that he does not know who Kangana is, but that statement cannot be translated as disrespecting women. He concluded saying, “I am responsible for what I speak, and I am not responsible for what other understand. Jai Hind Vande Mataram.”
