Ananya Panday, who have been in the industry for more than five years, says she never gets why they have to make a story about one woman pitting against one another in showbiz.
She said that she tries not to miss any opportunity to be present for her contemporaries Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. While speaking to Prime Video’s Maitri: Female First Collective, Ananya spoke about creating a supportive environment for her peers and added that she always believed in female friendship.
Recalling her initial years in the industry, the actress stated, “I think I’ve become a lot more vocal about what I stand for. What keeps me going is seeing change; knowing that speaking up or even through cinema you can actually make an impact. Even if one young girl comes up to me and says I am myself because you are yourself and I feel comfortable in my skin for me that’s where I have done my job.”
The Gehraiyaan actress also added that actresses are often put against actress, however, it is not the case with her, Sara, and Janhvi in a very conscious attempt. She explained the actresses constantly try to be there for each other and showcase their support publicly, to show people what female friendships are supposed to be.
