
Murad Khetani recently bought rights to original 80s hit movie “Namak Halal” starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan to remake the movie. A source told Pinkvilla that, “Big B’s Namak Halal will now be remade. Murad Khetani has bought the rights to the original and is currently putting it in place.” To confirm the news, Pinkvilla contacted Murad khetani, who then confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I have bought the rights to remake Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor-Smita Patil-Parveen Babi starrer Namak Halal. It’s a film that has been loved across generations and by people of all ages. We are working on the script at this point. We haven’t approached any actor or director for the film as of now. We will work on the casting once we lock the script completely.”
The original movie was released in 1982. The movie also starred superstar Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi and Smita Patil. “Namak Halal” was a blockbuster hit, while the songs of the movie are iconic.
Murad Khetani had earlier made remake of blockbuster “Arjun Reddy” in Hindi as “Kabir Singh” starring Shahid Kapoor. The movie was a blockbuster.
