Apple TV+ is adapting Gregory David Roberts’ best-selling novel ‘Shantaram’ into a series of the same name. The series stars Charlie Hunnam in the lead, with Radhika Apte playing a pivotal character. Now, according to a report of Bollywood Hungama, megastar Amitabh Bachchan is set to join the team.
According to the report, the series was set to be shot in Bombay but got delayed due to the pandemic. Charlie Hunnam was seen shooting in the city last year before the shoot had to be paused. The makers are hunting for locations with low risks to release the series in January 2021. The report further stated that the team is thinking of shooting outdoors and not on sets.
Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of crime lord Khader Khan. The series is supposed to have 10 episodes and will center around a heroin-addicted Australian bank robber who escapes prison and settles in the slums of India. It is being helmed by Justin Kurzel.
