Amitabh Bachchan schools KBC contestant labelling unmarried women as ‘burden’

In the recent episode of the Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16, host Amitabh Bachchan had to correct a contestant for his comments on unmarried women being a ‘burden’. It all began when contestant Krishna Selukar shared that though he holds a degree in engineering, but happens to be a victim of the COVID-19 lockdown, and he lost the job. He then equated it with other saying that if unmarried women are burden on their families, then a jobless man of a certain age is burden too. The host there and then cut in and said that women are not a burden.

“Agar mei kahu bina shadi ki ladki gharwalo par bojh hoti hai na sir, ek umar hone ke baad berozgar ladke utna hi bojh hote hai (If I say that an unmarried lady is a burden to her family, then after an age, an unemployed man is also a burden),” said the contestant.

Sr. Bachchan interrupted him, saying, “Ek baat batye aapko. Ladko joh hai bojh kabhi nai ban sakti. Bahut badi shaan hoti hai mahila.”

On the other hand as far as his movies are concerned, the last one which he acted was Kalki 2898 AD. He will soon be seen in Intern Hindi version to be produced with Deepika Padukone.
