Amitabh Bachchan recalls slamming London salesman who assumed he could not afford a tie; ‘Pack 10 of these’

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan often shares interesting anecdotes from his life on the show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is currently airing its 16th season. In the recent episode of KBC 16, a contestant named Pranati Paidipati asked Sr. Bachchan if he checks the price tags before purchasing something. Veteran actor shared his experience about how once, a shopkeeper in London disrespected him by underestimating his purchasing power, which brought a reaction out of him.

He narrated, “We were just shopping around and I happened to be looking at a tie, when the shopkeeper, with a dismissive tone, said it cost 120 pounds.”

Recounting his reaction, Big B said, “I looked right back at him and responded, ‘Pack ten of these for me’.” The actor further said, “It’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of showing our Indian spirit and confidence.”

During the same episode, Sr. Bachchan revealed his fear of cockroaches. He shared a personal experience about trapping a cockroach once. He said once he managed to catch a cockroach inside a bottle full of insecticide, it flew out a week later. Big B said, “Woh toh marte hin nahi hai.”
