Alia Bhatt shares a heartfelt video for her grandfather as he took his last breath – WATCH

Alia Bhatt’s grandfather and Soni Razdan’s father Narendranath Razdan passed away on the 1st of June at the age of 93. He took his last breath in the hospital located in Mumbai and bid everyone goodbye. On account of this sentimental occurrence, Alia took to her official Instagram account and shared a reel featuring her grandfather.

The video started with the actress asking, “Make a wish grandpa,” and to that, Narendranath Razdan replies that he had made many wishes. Ranbir Kapoor also appears lighting the candles on the cake. Then Alia requests him to share some wise words on his birthday and to that he responds by saying, “Smile all the time,” and also explained how smiling requires just a few muscles but it also enlightens the lives of many people. The video was filmed on Narendranath’s 92nd birthday.

Alia captioned the video by writing, “My grandpa. My hero  Played golf till 93, Worked till 93, Made the best omelet, Told the best stories, Played the violin, Played with his great granddaughter, Loved his cricket, Loved his sketching, Loved his family, & till the very last moment.. loved his life!, My heart is full of sorrow but also full of joy .. because all my grandpa did is give us joy & for that feel blessed and grateful to have been brought up by all the light he had to give! Until we meet again.”

The actress’s grandfather was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai a week ago and was being treated for a lung infection. Due to his deteriorating health condition, Alia even skipped this year’s IIFA Awards. As per sources, the Gangubai star was very close to her grandfather. He also attended her wedding in April 2022. As stated by Alia’s stepbrother Rahul Bhatt, the 93-year-old had been one of the attendees at the ceremony. He arrived in a wheelchair and gave his blessings to the newlyweds, even though he was suffering from insomnia.
