Unlike Sadak which was inspired by Martin Scorsese 1976 Taxi Driver, Sadak 2 is based on an original idea and through this, Mahesh Bhatt is making a come-back to direction after 21 years. Sadak 2 will feature Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur along with the original Sadak star cast Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles.
The movie was announced way before, but due to coronavirus induced lockdown the scheduled shoot came to halt. But now, there is news doing the rounds that Sadak 2 will go on floors from July and there are new schedule shoot dates being announced.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the movie will resume it’s shoot from the first week of July. The same reports suggest, earlier a song was supposed to be shot with all the four lead actors in Ooty but considering the conditions due to the pandemic, the makers of the film are rethinking to shoot it in a studio in Mumbai. Though they haven’t decided in which studio the song will be shot, it is fixed that the rest of the shooting will take place in Mumbai.
On the other hand, the film-makers are also contemplating on its release and they are struggling between OTT or Theatrical release of the movie for quite some time. But Mahesh Bhatt has taken a decision to release Sadak 2 on a digital platform. According to a blog by film critic Rajeev Masand, he will let the film go the OTT way by releasing it on Disney+Hotstar. Fox Star studios which is owned by Disney is co-producing this film, so the choice of digital platform is pretty clear.
