Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are one of the most popular couples of Bollywood. Their wedding, way back in 2001, was quite an intimate ceremony, attended by close family and friends. Recently, the renowned mehendi artist Veena Nagda shared that the wedding of the couple was a surprise one. She also shared that Twinkle was sitting in a plain dress when she reached her home for the mehendi.
Recently, Veena Nadga talked to Pinkvilla’s Hindi Rush about Twinkle’s mehendi. She said, “Twinkle Khanna, unki mehndi bhi iss tarah se thi ki subha hum log gaye the, toh woh plain dress mein hi baithe the.” She said when she showed these mehendi designs to Twinkle, the actress told her if all were sitting in heavy clothes for mehendi. Nadga told her yes, to which she got ready and sat for her mehendi. After sitting for 3 to 4 hours for her mehendi, Twinkle asked her how people sit for so long.
Further ahead while talking about Akshay and Twinkle’s wedding, Veena revealed, “Unki shaadi toh surprise thi.” She said she didn’t know who she was talking to even when the booking was made.
She recalled that she was called to somebody else’s house, and from there she was taken in a car. She recalls that even the driver didn’t tell her a thing, and upon reaching the venue, she was welcomed by Dimple Kapadia at the door. She also shared that Akshay could not make it to the mehendi ceremony, as he was busy with his shooting schedule.
