Many films are expected to hit the theatres next year as lockdowns lift. One film in particular that has fans sitting on the edge of their seats is Adipurush, a film by the award-winning director, Om Raut. According to reports, soon after the casting of Saif Ali Khan and Prabhas, who starred as the protagonist in the Bahubaali series, rumors got around about the casting of Ajay Devgn for a heavy role in the film, Lord Shiva. A few days later, unconfirmed reports stated that Ajay is, in fact, not part of the project. Today, the Bollywood star’s spokesman addressed the press and officially denounced Ajay’s part in the movie. Here’s what he said to ETimes, “Mr Devgn has not been approached by the makers of ‘Adipurush‘ for any character in it.”
After Om Raut confirmed Saif Ali Khan’s and Prabhas’ casting for Adipurush, various reports rumored Raut approaching Ajay Devgn. In case you missed it, Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn were both part of Om Raut’s latest release, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, hence the rumors of a reunited cast. Tanhaji closed the domestic box office with Rs 280 crore and Rs 350 crore for the worldwide box office. In addition to the immense success upon release, it also proved to be Ajay Devgn’s and Saif Ali Khan’s biggest hits in more than 25 years in their careers. Coming back to Adipurush, Prabhas has been cast for the role, Lord Ram, while Saif strikes again as the villain, Ravaan.
