“Prabhas Raju Uppalapati” Popularly known as ‘‘Prabhas” is Indian actor who is known for his participation in Telugu cinema, particularly for his roles in Varsham and Chatrapathi. Prabhas’s early movies, Eeshwar and Raghavendra, did not fare very well at the box office but he gained stardom with M.S. Raju’s film, Varsham, opposite Trisha Krishnan, in 2004. After the success of Varsham, Adavi Ramudu and Chakram did not live up to the expectations of Prabhas’s fans. However, in September 2005, he made a comeback with the phenomenal blockbuster, Chatrapathhi, opposite actress Shriya Saran.

1. In a career spanning over 15 years, Prabhas was a mega-star even before ‘Baahubali’. He has acted in a gamut of Telugu films and enjoys a big fan following down south.
2. His full name is Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati! Prabhas was born to film producer U. Suryanarayana Raju and his wife Siva Kumari.
3. The Baahubali series marks Prabhas and Rajamouli’s third collaboration together. Earlier they had paired in 2005 for ‘Chatrapathi.’ But it is the making of ‘Baahubali’ that has made the duo the best in the business.
4. He is the youngest of three children, with an elder brother Pramod Uppalapati and sister Pragathi. His uncle is Telugu actor Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. Prabhas attended the DNR School, Bhimavaram and graduated with a B.Tech. degree from Sri Chaitanya College, Hyderabad.
5. The actor went on with a strict diet and workout regime to gain 22 kgs for Baahubali and later had to drop that weight for the role of Shivudu. In ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, Prabhas stars in the double role of Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali for which he sized up to 105 kgs!
6. While Karan Johar expressed his desire to work with the ‘Baahubali’ actor, he revealed that he is a great fan of Rajkumar Hirani! Prabhas has watched ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘3 Idiots’ almost 20 times.
7. Many do not know this, but Prabhas loves to be by his books. He also has a personal library at home that he uses when he is not busy shooting.
