Saqib Saleem condemns Rhea Chakraborty’s media trial, says ‘Vilification of one person by media is sad’

Rhea Chakraborty is under judicial custody, over drug allegations linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Amid this, Saqib Saleem has stood for her.

It’s been three months now, since Sushant Singh Rajput was found mysteriously dead in his Bandra residence. This case is currently under investigation by CBI and other agencies. Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik were arrested by NCB, a week back in an alleged drug angle that was linked to Sushant’s case. However, several celebs came out in support of Rhea and demanded her condemnation should come to an end. Saqib Saleem took to his social media handle and opened up about demanding justice for both, Sushant and now in an interview, he explained the need of doing so.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Saqib said that Rhea has been a friend and in such a time, it was his duty to stand by her and her family. He further added that he lost faith in news channels and claimed that the ‘vilification’ of one person by the media is ‘sad.’ The actor went on stating the job of news channels is to just report facts and not give a narrative to people. He called it sad. Talking about justice for Sushant, Saqib said that the loss of the actor is ‘unfortunate’ and that there are several agencies like CBI, ED, NCB who are investigating what happened to him as no one knows anything about it.

The actor demands justice for both Rhea and Sushant. Talking about Rhea, Saqib said, “It is heart-breaking as Rhea is a friend of mine and as a friend, it is my responsibility to stand by her and her family at this time. Having said that, the case is in court and I hope and pray that the Indian judiciary gives a fair result of what happened. We all want to know what has happened.” Lately, when Saqib came out on social media and supported along with others, he received barbaric hate messages and he decided to show them publicly.

In a candid chat with Hidustan Times, Saqib said that actors have become soft targets and that the image of the industry is being degraded. He claimed that most of the stuff being said on social media is ‘propaganda.’ However, he is really looking forward for the truth to be revealed.

At the moment, Rhea is in Byculla Jail and the CBI is actively investigating the case while the ED is still probing the money laundering angle alleged by Sushant’s father KK Singh.
