Actor Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct and filed an FIR against the filmmaker under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 342 (wrongful confinement). After filing an FIR at Versova police station on September 21, 2020, the filmmaker was summoned by the cops and was reportedly interrogated for 8 hours on October 1, 2020. She also demanded a narco analysis, lie detector and polygraph test to be conducted on Kashyap, as he lied in his statement before to the police.
Payal Ghosh has reached New Delhi to meet Rekha Sharma, the National Commission for Women’s head, to discuss the further course of action against the filmmaker. She tweeted a post saying, “I thank @sharmarekha ma`am the @NCWIndia with the bottom of my heart for standing by me. When some women chose to take sides of a vulture, the organisation stood by me..”

She also revealed the details of her discussion with the NCW chief to ANI. The actress said, “I had a discussion with Rekha ma’am on how the investigation can speed up. She has assured me of help. I am more into the investigation but on the other side, the accused is chilling. Rekha Ma’am said she will support me. In the case of Section 376, the accused should be inside. I want to know why he is outside and chilling. I want security for me. My family is scared.”
