Maidaan Box Office Day 2 Collection: Ajay Devgn’s film gets a slow start, earns Rs 2.75 cr

Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan grossed Rs 4.5 crore on its first day.

Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn and celebrating the golden period of Indian football, saw a dip at the box office on its second day, grossing Rs 2.75 crore. The sporting drama appears to be struggling to attract viewers.

According to Sacnik, early estimates indicate that the film earned Rs 2.75 crore on Friday, a significant decline. It could be because of the conflict with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Both films were released on Eid. On Day 1, Maidaan earned Rs 4.5 crore.

Maidaan chronicles the story of coach SA Rahim and his football squad, who won the gold medal at the 1962 Asian Games. The film has received positive reviews. Other than Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and many other young actors.

Regarding the film, producer Boney Kapoor stated, “I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He’s an unsung hero whose achievements must be saluted. His team had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh. It takes someone like Ajay Devgn to play Syed Abdul Rahim. With him on board, I can just hope that our film inspires youngsters to play football and India soon to bring the World Cup home.” The movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The action thriller has received a favourable reception. It has earned more than Rs 15.5 crore net in India across all languages.
