A report in Sacnilk suggested that Akshay Kumar starrer Khel Khel Mein could only gross Rs 5 crore on its first day of its run. This, actually, is the worst collection out of all the movies that released on Independence Day. Stree 2 has got the highest opening and it earned, Rs 54.35 crore, while John Abraham’s Vedaa raked in Rs 6.52 crore.
Although Vedaa initially absorbed more advance tickets, it had significantly more spot bookings and a better showcasing of the films owing to the versatility factor. However, it is expected that Khel Khel Mein is likely to surge this weekend owing to the positive word of mouth.
The fans are glad to see Akshay ‘back in form’ in Khel Khel Mein they wonder whether the movie will be able to break through the Rs 20 crore barrier by Monday. Besides the Khiladi, the movie casts Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal & Pragya Jaiswal. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, it is the official adaptation of the 2016 Italian comedy-drama film Perfect Strangers.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay has a rather engaging schedule of movies. He has Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi in production. He is also shooting for Welcome to The Jungle which also has Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Kiku Sharda, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal among others.
