The Narcotics Control Bureau has been in action ever since the agency has discovered an entire drug nexus in Bollywood. NCB had raided the house of Kshitij Ravi Prasad, an employee of Dharma Productions, and had seized drugs from there. As a part of investigation, he was detained by the NCB after a day-long questioning on Friday. The agency also quizzed Anubhav Chopra, an assistant director linked to the production house owned by Karan Johar, and was allowed to leave late in the evening.
Owner of Dharma Prodction, Karan. Johar is also under the scanner of NCB as the party video of 2019 which is alleged to be a drug party was hosted at Karan’s house. Now, on Friday night, Johar tweeted an official statement denying claims that Prasad or Chopra were his assistants. He explained that Kshitij had joined Dharmatic Entertainment, a sister concern of Dharma productions, in November 2019 as one of the executive producers “on contract basis for a project which did not eventually materialise” while Anubhav worked with them on projects for short durations between 2011 and 2013.
In his tweet, Johar stated that he has never consumed any drugs nor does he promote them. “All these slanderous and malicious statements, news articles and news clippings have unnecessarily subjected me, my family, and my colleagues, and Dharma Productions, to hatred contempt and ridicule,” he said.
Johar also stated that he didn’t know either Prasad or Chopra personally and couldn’t be held responsible for what they did in their personal lives.
He concluded his post on a note that all those who have claimed false accusations on him should now restraint or else he won’t be left with any other option but to take a legal action.
