Sushant Singh Rajput had four accounts with financial institutions and money from these accounts has been transferred in Rhea Chakroborty’s account, sources within ED have informed. The company has been investigating the monetary scenario of the actor, who died on 14th June, to look into the case of cash laundering.
The late actor was found dead in his Mumbai residence. The police suspected it to be a suicide. But following his demise several allegations of nepotism and money laundering started to surface, thus giving the investigations different twist and turns.
Sushant Singh Rajput had accounts in Kotak Mahindra financial institution, HDFC and Standard Chartered. Money from the Kotak and HDFC account has been transferred to Rhea Chakraborty. Lately, Rhea Chakroborty bought two properties in Mumbai’s prime locations. The company has asked her to show all the required property documents.
According to the sources, the actor had a small farmhouse at Pavani, positioned on the outskirts of Mumbai. He additionally had a house in Goregaon. The actor, who had two vehicles, was paying off an automotive mortgage, sources stated.
Ms Chakraborty has claimed that the case against her was made by the actor’s father to harass her. In a petition to the Supreme Court the actress requested to transfer the case from Bihar to Mumbai, she stated Sushant Rajput’s father KK Rajput, a member of the Bihar police, has substantial effect regionally and she wouldn’t get an honest trial. Rhea had additionally informed the court that she lived with Sushant Singh Rajput for 12 months and shifted out briefly in June. Six days later, he committed suicide. The case filed in Bihar is now being transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation following a request from his family. The Maharashtra authorities have not agreed to a CBI probe.
The Mumbai Police have already questioned about 40 individuals which includes Rhea Chakraborty, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, Mukesh Chhabra, Shekhar Kapur and movie critic Rajeev Masand — within the case.
