The CBI will conduct a psychological necropsy of Sushant Singh Rajput, as per sources on late Monday night, as the central probe agency continues its Supreme Court-directed investigation into the circumstances behind the death of the popular actor.
To be carried out by the central probe agency’s CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory), this examination will involve a detailed analysis of every aspect of Mr Rajput’s life – from his posts on social media to WhatsApp chats and conversations with families, friends and others.
The CBI will gather information about the actor’s mood swings, behavioural patterns and even personal idiosyncrasies, as it tries to build a composite picture of his mental state in the days leading up to his death.
It will be, sources said, a post-mortem of the mind of Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, who was found dead at his Mumbai residence in June.
This will be only the third time that such a complex investigation method is employed; the other two instances were in the Sunanda Pushkar case and the bizarre Burari mass-suicide case that happened in Delhi two years ago.
Meanwhile, a four-member team forensic team has been constituted from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to examine Mr Rajput’s autopsy report, after the CBI approached the hospital for medico-legal assistance.
