The magic of the Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan duo is back in full force as their latest collaboration, Bhooth Bangla, continues its stellar run beyond the opening weekend. Demonstrating impressive legs at the ticket windows, the horror-comedy has managed to maintain a strong grip over the weekdays, solidifying its status as a certified box-office hit.
In just five days of release, the film has raked in a substantial ₹72.75 crore (Net) in India, which translates to a ₹86.62 crore domestic gross. The film’s appeal isn’t just limited to the home turf; it has resonated deeply with the international diaspora, pulling in ₹31.50 crore from overseas markets. This brings its total global cumulative collection to a whopping ₹118.12 crore.
With these refreshed figures, Bhooth Bangla has officially vaulted past the lifetime business of the Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri-starrer O’Romeo, which had previously concluded its run at ₹110.80 crore. This surge has catapulted the film to the position of the third-highest Bollywood grosser of 2026 so far. It now trails only behind the year’s massive tentpoles: the spy-thriller Dhurandhar 2 (₹1787.7 crore) and the war epic Border 2 (₹485.3 crore).
Industry experts attribute this success to the high recall value of the director-actor duo and the genre’s popularity among family audiences. As it enters its second week, all eyes are on whether the “Khiladi” can bridge the gap toward the ₹200-crore mark, given the lack of major competition in the coming days.
