Although there is a lot of fan demand and hope, the studio, Kodansha, or other relevant organizations have not made an official announcement since the conclusion of Season 2 in June 2025.

CloverWorks, Kodansha, and the anime’s production committee have yet to formally confirm that Season 2 ended on a significant cliffhanger in June 2025. Fans and industry observers, however, are still upbeat. Many anticipate a possible Season 3 announcement in the upcoming months, possibly around significant anime events like AnimeJapan, given the franchise’s strength and CloverWorks’ previous release pattern. A spring to mid-2026 release window seems feasible if approved quickly, though this is still up in the air.
Wind Breaker Season 3 Expected Cast
The main voice cast is expected to return if Season 3 proceeds, carrying on the narrative of Haruka Sakura and the Bofurin members. Important characters that are introduced around the close of Season 2—especially those associated with the Noroshi gang, such as the much-teased Takiishi Chika—are probably going to take center stage. No significant cast changes are expected because the anime has so far closely mirrored the manga, with returning performances serving as the focal point of the mounting confrontations in the upcoming arc.

Satoru Nii’s manga is still in progress and includes more than 200 chapters, providing a wealth of source material. Only a small fraction of the narrative has been adapted into the anime thus far, leaving untouched high-stakes gang warfare, deeper character backstories, and a number of significant confrontations. The upcoming season is expected to increase the intensity—both in action choreography and emotional weight—with Noroshi positioned as a considerably more deadly threat, forcing Bofurin into its most difficult conflicts to yet.
