Voltas profit falls to Rs 80 crore in second quarter

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortizations (EBITDA) was down 7.5 percent at Rs 98 crore versus Rs 106 crore and the margin was down 6.1 percent versus 7.4 percent, YoY.

Voltas, a Tata Group consumer electronic firm, reported a decline of 25.75 percent in consolidated net profit at Rs 79.66 crore for September quarter 2020-21, on Friday. In contrast, the company posted a net profit of Rs 107.28 crore for the same quarter last fiscal year.

Total income under the review period stood at Rs 1,650.80 crore. A 10.45 percent increment to 1,494.56 crores in the last year quarter. The company’s shares were trading at 1.72 percent higher, reaching Rs.753.30 apiece on the BSE.

Voltas said in a regulatory filing, “Total income during the period under review stood at Rs 1,650.80 crore, up 10.45 per cent as against Rs 1,494.56 crore in the year-ago quarter.”
