State Bank of India (SBI) has scheduled a General Meeting of Shareholders on 15th May 2026 to elect four Directors to its Central Board. The meeting will be held at 03:00 PM at the State Bank Auditorium in Mumbai and will also be accessible through Video Conferencing (VC) and Other Audio Visual Means (OAVM).
The election process is conducted under the provisions of Section 19(c) of the State Bank of India Act, 1955. SBI has released the details of the validly nominated candidates for the election, based on the Declaration and Undertaking submitted by the candidates in accordance with the RBI (Commercial Banks – Governance) Directions, 2025.
The list of candidates includes:
1. Shri Arun Ananth Kamath, a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in the banking sector. He is currently a founding partner at CM Compliance Matters Advisory and Solutions LLP.
2. Shri K R Ashok, a mathematics graduate with a career spanning 36 years at the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), where he held various senior positions including Executive Director.
3. Shri Dharmendra Singh Shekhawat, a Chartered Accountant with 23 years of experience in accountancy and finance. He has previously served as an Independent Director on the Board of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
4. Shri Khurshed Rustom Dordi, a commerce graduate with over 30 years of experience in retail banking and corporate finance. He is currently self-employed as a strategic advisor and leadership coach.
