Solarworld Energy Solutions has been awarded a significant contract for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station. The contract, which was awarded by NTPC Limited, is valued at approximately ₹314.26 crore, excluding taxes.
The project, titled ‘BESS Implementation at NTPC Thermal Power Stations (Lot-1)’, involves a substantial award capacity of 132 MW/264 MWh. Solarworld Energy Solutions is tasked with completing the facilities within a 15-month timeframe.
This contract marks a notable achievement for Solarworld Energy Solutions, as it underscores the company’s growing presence in the domestic energy sector. The project is a domestic undertaking, with NTPC Limited, formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, serving as the awarding entity.
The terms of the contract specify that the project will be executed entirely within India, with no involvement of international entities. Additionally, it has been confirmed that there is no interest from the promoter group or related parties in the entity awarding the contract, ensuring that the transaction does not fall within related party transactions.
