Shree Cement has announced plans to establish a new integrated cement plant in Meghalaya, with an estimated investment of ₹1,800 crore. The plant will have a clinker capacity of 0.95 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a cement capacity of 0.99 MTPA.
The new facility will be located in the village of Daistong, East Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya. The company aims to complete the project by the quarter ending March 2028. This expansion is part of Shree Cement‘s strategy to enhance its production capabilities and meet growing market demand.
The financing for the project will be a combination of internal accruals and debt. The company currently has no existing capacity at the proposed site, marking a significant expansion into the region.
The decision to set up the plant aligns with Shree Cement’s business expansion plans, as the company continues to strengthen its position in the Indian cement industry.
