Rail Vikas Nigam has been awarded a significant contract by South Central Railway, valued at approximately ₹242.5 crore. The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning for the upgradation of the existing 1X25kV system to a 2X25kV AT Feeding System, including feeder and earthing works. This project spans the Ongole (OGL) to Gudur (GDR) section of the Vijayawada Division, covering a total of 154 RKM/462 TKM.
The awarded contract is a domestic project and is expected to be executed over a period of 24 months. The terms and conditions of the contract are governed by general contract conditions. Rail Vikas Nigam has clarified that there is no interest from the promoter group or related parties in the entity awarding the contract, ensuring that the transaction does not fall within related party transactions.
The contract is part of the company’s routine business operations and reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure across India. The project will play a crucial role in upgrading the railway’s electrification system, thereby improving efficiency and reliability in the specified section.
