Prime Focus Limited has received a temporary reprieve in its ongoing insolvency proceedings. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has directed that the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) should not proceed with any further actions as per the order of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), pending a subsequent hearing.
The appeal, identified as Comp. App. (AT) (Ins.) 850 of 2026, was heard on May 8, 2026, by the Hon’ble Chairperson of the NCLAT in New Delhi. This follows an earlier oral pronouncement by the NCLT, Mumbai Bench, on May 6, 2026, which admitted a petition filed under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, against Prime Focus Limited.
The NCLAT’s decision effectively pauses the progression of the insolvency process, granting Prime Focus Limited a temporary halt until the next hearing, which is scheduled for May 11, 2026.
Prime Focus Limited had previously informed the stock exchanges of the NCLT’s decision and the subsequent filing of an appeal. The company’s appeal is part of its efforts to contest the insolvency proceedings initiated against it.
