Premier Energies Limited has successfully commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur, Telangana, marking a significant expansion in its production capabilities. The facility, which spans 75 acres, is set to create approximately 2,000 jobs, thereby contributing to the local economy and reinforcing India’s clean energy manufacturing sector. With this new addition, Premier Energies‘ total solar module capacity has reached 11.1 GW, bolstering its position as one of India’s largest solar manufacturers and enhancing its service capabilities for both domestic and international markets.
The newly established production facility is equipped with one of India’s most advanced and automated solar module manufacturing lines. It is capable of producing four G12R TOPCon high-efficiency modules every 16 seconds. The high degree of automation ensures precision, consistent quality, and superior throughput, while also reducing operating costs and improving capacity utilisation. The facility incorporates AI-powered fault detection to identify and correct defects in real time, thereby enhancing module reliability and performance. The integration of TOPCon technology with Zero Busbar architecture enables Premier Energies to deliver high-performance solar modules with higher energy yield, reduced optical losses, and improved durability.
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, stated, “The commissioning of this new hi-tech plant is a significant milestone in our journey toward a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem. By leveraging advanced technologies and scaling across the value chain—from ingots to modules—we are positioning ourselves to deliver reliable, high-efficiency solutions at scale and support India’s clean energy transition.”
Sudhir Reddy, Chief Strategy Officer of Premier Energies, added, “This facility strengthens our strategic roadmap to scale integrated manufacturing while aligning closely with India’s renewable energy ambitions. By investing in advanced technologies and expanding domestic capabilities, we are enhancing supply chain resilience and meeting growing global demand for high-efficiency solar solutions.”
Premier Energies is a publicly listed company and one of India’s largest integrated solar manufacturers. It is undertaking a ₹12,500 crore capital expenditure programme over three years to more than double its solar manufacturing capacity, expand backward integration into ingots and wafers, and diversify into inverters, transformers, and battery systems. With a 30-year track record in solar manufacturing, Premier Energies is recognised for its commitment to technology innovation, sustainability, and an employee-centric culture, earning Great Place to Work certification for five consecutive years.
