Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced the appointment of Shri Vinod Seshan as the Government Nominee Director on its Board, effective from 9th March 2026. Seshan, who is the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will serve in this role for a period of three years or until further orders.
Vinod Seshan is an officer from the 2008 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, Assam Cadre, with over 20 years of experience in policy making, development, and infrastructure project management. He has previously served on the boards of OIL India and HPCL, and has a background in software services. Seshan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Visveswariah University, Karnataka, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Infrastructure from University College London.
ONGC confirmed that Seshan is not debarred from holding office by any SEBI order or other authority. His appointment is aligned with the directives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
