Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited has announced the successful commissioning of its second pellet plant with a capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) at , . The project was completed in a record time of 16 months from the start of construction.

This achievement underscores the company’s capability to execute industrial projects with remarkable speed and precision, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence. The new plant complements the existing 4 MTPA pellet plant at the same site, bringing ‘s total pellet production capacity at Konsari to 8 MTPA.

The pellet plant sources its feedstock from the company’s captive low-alumina iron ore mines located at , Gadchiroli. The iron ore is transported via an 85-kilometre slurry pipeline, which was also commissioned in June 2025. The low alumina content of the ore allows for the production of premium-grade pellets that fetch higher prices in both domestic and export markets.

This commissioning marks a strategic milestone in Lloyds Metals and Energy’s ambition to establish an integrated steel value chain.
