Indian Oil says fuel stocks ample amid India-Pakistan tensions

As tensions escalate between India and Pakistan, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) issued a public advisory on Friday reassuring citizens that fuel and LPG supplies remain uninterrupted across the country. The statement comes amid rising concerns of potential supply disruptions and panic buying following reports of increased cross-border hostilities and military deployments.

“#IndianOil has ample fuel stocks across the country and our supply lines are operating smoothly. There is no need for panic buying—fuel and LPG is readily available at all our outlets,” the company posted on X (formerly Twitter) at 10:42 AM on May 9, 2025.

The advisory emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining seamless fuel access. “Help us serve you better by staying calm and avoiding unnecessary rush. This will keep our supply lines running seamlessly and ensure uninterrupted fuel access for all,” it added.

This clarification follows heightened public anxiety triggered by the ongoing Operation Sindoor and retaliatory military actions between India and Pakistan. Cities along the northern and western borders, including Jammu, Pathankot, and Amritsar, have reported heightened alert levels, prompting worries over potential logistical disruptions.

IOCL’s reassurance aims to counter rumors and ensure that critical infrastructure continues to function efficiently during this sensitive time.
