According to Mint, Indian IT giants like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Wipro Ltd. are hoping to get their employees back at offices as the country is witnessing a decline in daily COVID-19 cases.

During the announcement of their earning update for quarter ended June 30, 2021, the three companies have mentioned their expectations of the return of their employees to offices all across the world around the second half of  2021, only when fully vaccinated.

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Wipro, Saurabh Govil has stated that the Bengaluru-based IT major will likely bring back employees slowly back to work from September, 2021, determined by the pandemic and third wave.

He continued, “This will vary between country by country and different stages of the pandemic. This will not be one size fits all.”

Additionally, India’s largest software company TCS is expecting its more than 5 lakh employees to return to offices once done with getting vaccinated against COVID-19 by the month of September this year.

Milind Lakkad, TCS’ Chief of Global Human  Resources has said that in less than two months, over half a million associates including their family members and over 70 per cent of their associates had been inoculated. “We are on track to vaccinate al TCSers and families by September”, he added.

As per Bengaluru-based Infosys’ Chief Operating Officer (COO) U B Pravin Rao, in the next six months, the company hopes 20 to 30 per cent of their employees to work from offices.
