On Wednesday, Walt Disney Co said it will layoff 32,000 workers from theme parks. There has been an increase from 28,000 which was announced in the month of September as it is struggling with limited customers due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The layoffs will be conducted in the first half of 2021. Earlier this month, it will fire additional workers from its Southern California theme park due to the on-going pandemic. However, the company’s theme parks in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo remain open till today.
Disney’s theme park in Florida and those outside the United States reopened earlier without seeing new major Coronavirus outbreak but with strict social distancing.
Due to the second wave of the coronavirus cases, Disneyland Paris was forced to close again in October.
