The CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) unveiled an investor education comic series in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha at CDSL’s 3rd Annual Symposium, Reimagine: Securities Market through Data Synergy. The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening investor awareness through engaging and culturally rooted storytelling.

The comic series was officially launched by Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Developed by CDSL IPF under the guidance of SEBI, the comic series aims to simplify financial concepts and encourage informed participation in India’s capital markets.

On launch of the series, Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), said, “Investor awareness is fundamental to building inclusive and transparent securities markets. I commend the depositories for their efforts in the areas of investor education and awareness. Initiatives like the launch of a comic book series will go a long way in spreading investor awareness. Campaigns such as ‘Slam the Scam’ and ‘AtmanirbHER’ have helped empower individuals to participate with greater confidence.”

Commenting on the initiative, Shri Nehal Vora, Managing Director and CEO, CDSL, said, “Investor education is most effective when it is simple, relatable and trustworthy. By partnering with Amar Chitra Katha, we are leveraging the power of storytelling to empower investors with knowledge that enables informed and confident financial decision-making.”

Available in both digital and print formats, the series will be distributed through investor protection programmes and is offered in 12 languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Oriya.

Shri. Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF, Secretariat, added, “Strengthening investor protection begins with strengthening investor awareness. By simplifying complex financial concepts through engaging storytelling, we aim to equip investors with the knowledge required to recognise risks, make informed choices and participate safely in the capital markets.”
