Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited has announced the launch of seven new gallium nitride (GaN) power devices, marking India’s first GaN power IC family. Developed using ‘s industry-leading GaN technology, these devices are designed to cater to the growing demand for high-efficiency power solutions in various sectors, including AI data centres, telecommunications, consumer fast charging, industrial power systems, and e-mobility platforms.

The launch represents a significant milestone for Semiconductors, as it is their first commercial GaN product family. This development is expected to advance India’s domestic power semiconductor ecosystem by offering high-power-density solutions that address the rapidly increasing demand in the market.

The collaboration between Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas Semiconductor, announced in December 2025, enables customers in India to access commercially available GaN power solutions with enhanced local support and supply assurance. Under this agreement, Cyient Semiconductors will license Navitas’s GaN technology for use in India, accelerating the adoption of high-performance GaN solutions across a broad range of markets.

GaN power semiconductors offer significant advantages over traditional silicon devices, including higher switching speeds, lower conduction losses, and improved thermal efficiency. These benefits allow system designers to reduce power losses, shrink solution sizes, simplify thermal management, and increase overall system performance.

The initial GaN portfolio from Cyient Semiconductors targets power applications up to 650 V, including consumer USB-PD chargers, laptop and mobile adapters, AC-DC power supplies, AI data centre and telecommunications power systems, and e-mobility charging platforms. The first wave of products features seven highly integrated GaN power devices in DPAK packages, combining drive, control, and protection functions with integrated EMI management and current sensing.

Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, emphasised the significance of this launch, stating that it marks their entry into high-performance power semiconductors with a strong roadmap for expansion. , President and CEO of Navitas Semiconductor, highlighted India’s importance in Navitas’s growth strategy and the partnership’s role in supporting the “Make in India” initiative.

Cyient Semiconductors expects to begin sampling the first set of GaN power products by June 2026. Customers can contact Cyient Semiconductors directly for datasheets, samples, and technical support.
