Zydus Lifesciences Limited has entered into a strategic agreement with Myriad Genetics, a global leader in molecular diagnostic testing and precision medicine, to introduce advanced hereditary and prognostic cancer tests in India. Under this partnership, Zydus will bring globally validated genomic testing solutions to Indian patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems, strengthening precision oncology in the country.

As part of the agreement, Zydus will exclusively market and promote three of Myriad Genetics’ diagnostic platforms in India: the MyRisk® Hereditary Cancer Test, the MyChoice® HRD Plus Test for ovarian cancer, and the Prolaris® Prostate Cancer Prognostic Test. These tests are already widely adopted across North America, Europe, and leading global cancer centres, and their entry into India is expected to significantly enhance clinical decision-making for oncologists.

With cancer incidence rising globally, early risk assessment and personalised treatment strategies are becoming increasingly critical. The MyRisk® Hereditary Cancer Test is designed for individuals with a personal or family history suggestive of hereditary cancer. It is a comprehensive germline multigene panel that analyses 63 clinically significant genes, including BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, ATM, TP53, MLH1, and MSH2. The test covers multiple cancer types such as breast, ovarian, lung, pancreatic, colorectal, endometrial, prostate, gastric, and melanoma, helping assess lifetime cancer risk and enabling personalised prevention strategies.

A key feature of the MyRisk® Test is RiskScore®, which combines genetic insights with clinical data to predict both five-year and lifetime breast cancer risk. This allows clinicians to design individualised screening and prevention plans, supporting proactive and informed healthcare decisions.

For patients already diagnosed with cancer, Myriad’s prognostic tools offer critical guidance on disease progression and treatment planning. The Prolaris® Prostate Cancer Prognostic Test helps patients and clinicians better understand prostate cancer aggressiveness, while the MyChoice® HRD Plus Test supports treatment decisions in ovarian cancer by identifying homologous recombination deficiency, a key biomarker for targeted therapies.
