Wipro has announced a three-year strategic partnership with Microsoft aimed at helping enterprises accelerate AI adoption and transform into what the companies call “Frontier Firms” — organisations that lead early in large-scale, responsible AI deployment. The announcement was made on Friday through a regulatory filing and press release.
As part of the collaboration, Wipro will combine its consulting-led delivery model and engineering capabilities with Microsoft’s cloud and AI ecosystem, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and related enterprise platforms. The partnership will focus on building AI-powered workflows and industry-specific solutions across sectors such as financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences, and airports.
A key highlight of the announcement is the launch of a Microsoft Innovation Hub at Wipro’s Partner Labs in Bengaluru. The hub is designed to support co-innovation, accelerate enterprise transformation, and enable clients to engage in immersive AI workshops. It will also leverage Wipro’s Agent Marketplace, which hosts AI agents built on Microsoft’s AI platform, to support joint go-to-market initiatives.
Wipro said it is also deepening internal AI adoption as part of the partnership. The company plans to deploy over 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses across its workforce and is upskilling more than 25,000 employees in Microsoft Cloud and GitHub technologies to build an AI-fluent talent base.
According to Wipro, the collaboration is expected to strengthen its AI-led offerings under the Wipro Intelligence™ platform and support long-term, consulting-driven growth opportunities. Microsoft said the partnership brings together its cloud infrastructure and Wipro’s industry expertise to build next-generation AI copilots and agents that deliver measurable business outcomes.
