VA TECH WABAG (‘WABAG’), a global leader in water technology, has further strengthened its footprint in the Middle East by securing a prestigious $14 million (~INR 121 crore) contract from BAPCO Refining B.S.C (BAPCO). This contract covers the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) in Bahrain for the next seven years.

The state-of-the-art IWTP processes 4,400 US gallons per minute (USGPM) of wastewater, utilizing advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology. This ensures superior treatment efficiency, aligning with stringent environmental and industrial standards.

With this significant order, WABAG expands its O&M portfolio in Bahrain, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable water solutions. Notably, the company has been successfully managing the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant in Bahrain since November 2018.
