Vodafone Idea Limited has received significant relief from the Department of Telecommunications in the long-pending Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) matter, providing much-needed clarity on its future payment obligations. The company informed exchanges that it has received an official communication from the Department of Telecommunications, outlining a revised repayment structure for AGR dues covering the period from FY 2006–07 to FY 2018–19.

As per the communication, Vodafone Idea’s AGR dues, including principal, interest, penalty, and interest on penalty, have been frozen as of December 31, 2025. This move offers immediate financial relief and visibility on long-term liabilities, which has been a key concern for investors tracking the company’s balance sheet and cash flow position.

Under the revised framework, Vodafone Idea will pay a maximum of ₹124 crore annually for six years, from March 2026 to March 2031. This will be followed by annual payments of ₹100 crore for four years, from March 2032 to March 2035. The remaining AGR dues will then be repaid in equal annual installments over six years, spanning March 2036 to March 2041. This staggered schedule significantly eases near- and medium-term financial pressure on the telecom operator.

In addition, the Department of Telecommunications will constitute a committee to reassess the AGR dues. The decision of this committee will be final, and any reassessed amount will also be repaid in equal annual installments between March 2036 and March 2041. This reassessment could potentially lead to further relief, depending on the outcome of the review process.
