United Breweries Limited has announced the closure of its brewery unit located at Plot No. 310, 311, 322E, Industrial Area, Baikampady, Mangalore – 575011, Karnataka. The shutdown of the Mangalore Brewery will take effect from June 30, 2025.
The decision is part of a broader strategic capacity consolidation effort by the company. United Breweries is currently investing in the expansion of its Nanjangud Brewery in Mysuru, Karnataka, aiming to enhance supply chain efficiency and meet future demand within the state more effectively.
According to the company, operations at the Nanjangud facility will take over the production needs previously handled by the Mangalore unit. United Breweries stated that the closure will not affect its business performance in Karnataka.
The company has communicated the closure to the Karnataka Excise Department as of June 2, 2025. It is also informing the stock exchanges in accordance with regulatory requirements.
United Breweries noted that it will take necessary measures to support employees and workers impacted by the closure.
