UltraTech Cement commissions additional 0.6 MTPA grinding unit in Tamil Nadu

UltraTech Cement has announced the commissioning of an additional 0.6 MTPA slag-based grinding capacity at its existing unit in Karur, Tamil Nadu. This expansion follows the earlier commissioning of 2.7 MTPA greenfield grinding capacity on April 2, 2024, bringing the plant’s total capacity to 3.3 MTPA.

This strategic investment strengthens UltraTech’s ability to meet the rising demand for composite cement in South India while enhancing its blended cement ratio. The expansion aligns with the company’s long-term growth vision by improving the clinker conversion ratio, boosting operational efficiency, and advancing sustainability efforts.
