Tata Communications Ltd. on Monday announced a strategic collaboration with Cisco to reshape the global landscape of eSIM and IoT connectivity, enabling enterprises to manage and scale connected devices more efficiently.
The partnership will integrate Tata Communications MOVE™, an intelligent multi-generational global eSIM orchestration platform with reach across 200+ countries, into Cisco’s IoT Control Center, which is already used by 32,000+ enterprises managing over 270 million IoT SIM devices.
Key benefits for enterprises
-
Seamless connectivity management across multiple SIM providers, private/public networks, and eSIM standards.
-
Accelerated time-to-market through a unified connectivity experience.
-
Deep visibility and control across IoT deployments.
-
Reduced integration efforts and avoidance of vendor lock-ins.
Executives from both companies highlighted the transformative impact of the partnership. Marco Bijvelds, VP and Global Head of Tata Communications MOVE™, said the collaboration will help global enterprises unlock opportunities, streamline operations, and accelerate digital transformation.
Masum Mir, SVP & GM, Cisco Provider Mobility, added that eSIM is becoming foundational to simplifying and scaling mobility services. “Together, Cisco and Tata Communications are enabling innovation and opening up new opportunities,” he said.
Industry impact
The partnership is expected to significantly benefit industries such as transportation, logistics, and manufacturing, where reliable IoT connectivity is critical. Examples include trucking companies instantly activating trailers across borders without local SIM cards, or utilities monitoring infrastructure across networks without device reconfiguration.
By combining Tata Communications’ IoT fabric with Cisco’s device management expertise, the companies aim to set a new benchmark for interoperability, scalability, and lifecycle intelligence in global IoT operations.
