Tantia Constructions Limited, a leading infrastructure development company, has been awarded a significant contract worth ₹151 crore for the design, supply, construction, and operation of a passenger ropeway at Shillong Peak, Meghalaya. The project, awarded by the Directorate of Tourism, Shillong, marks a key milestone for Tantia Constructions in its infrastructure and tourism development endeavors.
The contract, secured as part of a consortium in which Tantia Constructions holds a 60% share, is structured under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode. This project aims to bolster tourism in the scenic Shillong Peak region by providing a world-class passenger ropeway system that enhances accessibility and offers an unparalleled experience for visitors.
The letter of acceptance, issued on December 3, 2024, outlines the project scope, which includes not only the design and construction of the ropeway but also its operation and maintenance for a specified period. With this project, Tantia Constructions continues to demonstrate its expertise in executing large-scale, innovative infrastructure projects that contribute to regional development.
