Sterling Tools Limited (BSE: 530759 | NSE: STERTOOLS), a leading automotive components and technology manufacturer, has partnered with MINIEYE, a China-based intelligent driving and in-cabin solutions provider listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, to accelerate the deployment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Driver Monitoring Systems tailored specifically for the Indian automotive market.

The partnership is focused on adapting intelligent driving technologies to India’s unique and highly complex road environment. As part of the collaboration, Sterling Tools will support perception tuning and on-ground industry engagement, enabling ADAS and driver monitoring systems to be trained for India-specific road scenarios, mixed traffic conditions, and diverse driving patterns. This approach recognises that intelligent driving systems require deep data-driven perception development and application-level engineering to operate reliably in Indian conditions, rather than being direct replications of solutions deployed in global markets.

The collaboration centres on application engineering and system adaptation to ensure that ADAS and driver monitoring technologies align with Indian driving environments, road infrastructure, and real-world operating conditions. The development effort will cover both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, supporting OEMs with solutions that are engineered for local requirements while meeting regulatory and safety expectations.

As part of this initiative, the adapted systems will include technologies such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning Systems, Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems, Blind Spot Monitoring, and other advanced safety functions. These systems will be aligned with OEM requirements and evolving regulatory frameworks, ensuring readiness for large-scale adoption across vehicle segments.

India’s automotive industry is entering a critical safety transition phase, with mandatory fitment of ADAS and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems in new vehicle models scheduled to take effect from January 1, 2027. As adoption accelerates, OEMs are increasingly seeking safety technologies that are engineered specifically for Indian traffic behaviour, road complexity, and operating conditions, while remaining fully compliant with regulatory mandates.

MINIEYE brings extensive global experience in intelligent driving and in-cabin technologies to the partnership. Its solutions are compliant with the EU General Safety Regulation and supported by Automotive SPICE V4.0 CL3 certification. The company’s systems are already deployed across international markets including Europe, the UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America, providing a strong foundation for scalable, regulation-ready deployments in India.
