Solar Industries subsidiary secures Rs 6,084 crore defence order from Ministry of Defence

Solar Industries India Ltd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Economic Explosives Limited (EEL), has received a landmark order worth INR 6,084 Crores from the Ministry of Defence. This significant contract includes the supply of Area Denial Munition (ADM) Type-1 (DPICM) and High Explosive Pre Fragmented (HEPF) Mk-1 (Enhanced) rockets for the PINAKA Multiple Launcher Rocket System (MLRS).

The deal marks the largest contract in the history of the Solar Group and positions EEL as the primary production agency for all variations of the Pinaka Rocket System, as nominated by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This move aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative and supports the country’s self-reliance goals under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

The contract spans 8 to 15 years, with 86% of the work to be completed within the first 10 years.
