Solar Industries India Ltd. reported a tragic incident at its Chakdoh facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where an explosion occurred in the early hours of September 4, 2025. The company confirmed that the blast took place at 12:33 am in the Crystallization Building during the crystallization process of an energetic material.
According to the official statement, the plant’s safety mechanisms were immediately activated, and workers in the area were evacuated as per emergency protocols. Despite these measures, the shock impact of the explosion led to the death of one individual and left eight others injured in nearby areas.
Solar Industries expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured support during this difficult time. The company has also notified relevant government departments and statutory authorities, with a detailed investigation underway to determine root causes and implement corrective as well as preventive measures.
On the financial front, the company stated that the damage is limited to the affected building and confirmed that adequate insurance coverage is in place to manage the losses.
