Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has issued a public notice cautioning the general public and all stakeholders against an unauthorized entity operating under the name “ONGC INDIA”, which is falsely claiming an association with the company. ONGC has clarified that this entity has no relationship, affiliation, or connection whatsoever with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, its subsidiaries, or any group companies.
According to ONGC, the use of the name “ONGC INDIA” and related representations is completely unauthorized and appears to be driven by malafide intent. The corporation has warned that such misrepresentation is aimed at misleading government authorities, vendors, contractors, banks, financial institutions, and other stakeholders for wrongful gain.
ONGC has strongly advised all stakeholders to immediately refrain from engaging in any form of dealings, transactions, or communications with the said entity or with any individual or organization claiming association with ONGC under this name. The company has made it clear that any transactions carried out with such unauthorized entities will be entirely at the risk, cost, and consequences of the concerned parties, and ONGC will not be held liable under any circumstances for losses or damages arising from such dealings.
The public sector energy major has also requested that any individual or organization that has encountered or engaged with the fake entity report the matter to ONGC, along with relevant documentary evidence. This will help the corporation take appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws.
ONGC further stated that it reserves the right to initiate strict civil and criminal proceedings against the impersonating entity and all individuals involved in acts of misrepresentation, cheating, fraud, or impersonation. The company emphasized that such actions are necessary to protect stakeholders and prevent misuse of its name and reputation.
Reaffirming its commitment, ONGC said it remains dedicated to safeguarding stakeholder interests while upholding the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and corporate governance. Stakeholders are urged to verify credentials carefully and rely only on official ONGC communications and channels for any business or official engagement.
