NTPC subsidiary declares commercial operation of its Unit 1 (660 MW) at Khurja STPP

NTPC Limited has recently informed exchanges that its subsidiary, THDC India, has successfully declared Unit 1 (660 MW) of the Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (Khurja STPP) as being on Commercial Operation. The unit, part of the 2×660 MW Khurja STPP, has been officially commissioned and has commenced its operations from 00:00 Hrs on 26th January 2025.

With the commencement of operations at Khurja STPP Unit 1, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 77,393.18 MW. This marks a continued upward trajectory for NTPC Limited as it continues to expand its footprint in the Indian energy sector.

In the meantime, NTPC Limited is also set to announce its Q3 results today. Investors and stakeholders eagerly await the figures, which are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the company’s performance and its future outlook in the energy sector.

On Friday, NTPC shares closed at ₹324.00, showing a slight dip from the open of ₹324.80. The day’s high reached ₹329.90, while the low touched ₹322.10. Over the past year, the stock has seen a 52-week high of ₹448.45 and a 52-week low of ₹296.85.
