Global Health Limited, which operates under the brand name Medanta, has announced that it has received a formal offer from Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL), a government entity, for a 3-acre land parcel in Guwahati, Assam. The land has been earmarked for the development of a super speciality hospital, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing dated April 7, 2025.

The proposal, extended by AEGCL, marks a strategic opportunity for Medanta to expand its presence in Northeast India. The management of Global Health Limited stated that it is currently evaluating the offer and working on the next steps.

“We shall keep the exchanges and investors updated on any material development in this regard,” the company added.

The development, once finalized, could significantly boost advanced healthcare access in Assam and the surrounding regions, aligning with Medanta’s expansion and regional outreach goals.
